CORONAVIRUS VACCINE UPDATE
Good news! We were just alerted that in addition to health care and other front line workers, Fairfield County is now giving out the COVID Vaccine to additional persons. If you are living in a long term care facility you are now eligible to receive the vaccine. Also, anyone above 74 years old can receive the vaccine. There is still no information about other high risk groups however we will continue to update our website as things change.
For information regarding the vaccine in CT and to register (on VAMS) for the vaccine the link is: Phases (ct.gov)
If you are concerned about having an allergic reaction to the vaccine, please schedule a telehealth visit with us. We are skin testing for allergy to polyethylene glycol (PEG) in our office as this is the major ingredient in the COVID vaccine which is causing the allergic reactions. While testing for PEG is not 100% sensitive, it can help in your decision making as to whether you want to get the current vaccine formulation or wait until other vaccine formulations are available.
Additionally, we may be giving out the COVID vaccine in our office when government supplies are adequate and we are on the state list for vaccine administration when they get to additional phases of distribution. We will update this website as we get more information.
Our offices are open for all allergy and asthma services. We are also offering telehealth services. You can perform the visit on your laptop computer if equipped with a camera. Please remember that telehealth visits are more limited than office visits as certain aspects of the physical examination cannot be performed. Telehealth visits can be performed for all the usual problems such as sinusitis, bronchitis, asthma, allergies, etc.
FLU SHOTS ARE IN – SCHEDULE YOUR FLU SHOT WITH US BEFORE THE SEASON STARTS!
Flu shots are generally covered by all major insurance companies and they are free for all Medicare patients.
We are the largest provider of allergy and asthma care in the greater Stamford area. We provide services to the surrounding towns of Greenwich, Darien, New Canaan, Wilton, Westport, Norwalk, and Fairfield as well as Westchester County, New York. In practice since 1991, our allergists take pride in accurate diagnostic testing and expert treatment. Patient satisfaction and comfort are important to us. Our professional and caring nurses and office staff ensure that you will not be kept waiting for your appointment. Our physicians have consistently been listed as BEST DOCTORS in Connecticut and the New York metropolitan region.
In addition to being Board Certified in Allergy & Immunology, our physicians are also Board Certified in their respective fields of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. This means that our physicians have had the same training as Primary Care doctors such as Internists and Pediatricians prior to specializing in Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. Using this knowledge we can put allergic conditions into the larger perspective of a patient’s general health. We are able to care for patients from early childhood to the elderly with a range of uncomplicated to the complex medical issues faced today such as heart disease, diabetes, pulmonary disease, and other illnesses.
