Welcome to our practice of allergy, asthma and immunology. With our large staff, appointments are usually available within a few days or a week for both established and new patients. We also offer telehealth services for those who would rather have their visit at home. Telehealth visits can be performed for all the usual problems such as sinusitis, bronchitis, asthma, allergies, etc.

The pneumonia vaccine is recommended for all patients 65 years old and over. It is also recommended for younger patients with high risk factors for pneumococcal disease such as: alcoholism, chronic heart/liver/lung disease including asthma, chronic renal failure, cigarette smoking, cochlear implant, congenital or acquired asplenia, CSF leak, diabetes mellitus, generalized malignancy, Hodgkin disease, immunodeficiency, iatrogenic immunosuppression, leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, nephrotic syndrome, solid organ transplants, sickle cell disease or other hemoglobinopathies.
COVID TREATMENT NOW AVAILABLE THROUGH OUR OFFICE
We are now making COVID treatments available through our office. PAXLOVID, which is a pill, is a combination of 2 different antiviral medications shown effective in treating COVID in the early stages. It has approval for use in those patients who are proven to be COVID positive and have a high risk of progression to severe disease.
High risk factors are heart disease, chronic lung disease including moderate or severe asthma, significant immunodeficiency, chemotherapy, diabetes, active cancer, long term high dose prednisone therapy, over age 65, dementia, chronic liver disease, overweight BMI>30, and chronic kidney disease.
The most common side effects are alteration in taste, diarrhea, high blood pressure and muscle aches.
In order for our doctors to prescribe this treatment or other COVID therapy, patients need to schedule a formal appointment (televisit preferred). We will discuss general health issues and review your list of medications to make sure there are no drug interactions.
